Casterton Stone Circle
The north west of England is home to many stone circles. Unlike the giant structures found in Wiltshire, the stone circles which can be found in Cumbria consist of much smaller stones, like this one at Casterton (it's barely visible in the centre of the photograph). But don't let size put you off as the locations are stunning. With panoramic views of the Lune Valley, the Howgill Fells and the Cumbrian mountains.
Casterton stone circle can be found further up the hill from Fellfoot Lane.
