The Aston Memorial, Williamson Park, Lancaster

The monumentous Ashton Memorial in Williamson Park can be seen for miles around Lancaster. Built in 1906 by Lord Ashton as a memorial to his late wife. The Ashton Memorial is the worlds second largest memorial, the largest being the Taj Mahal.

The Memorial is open to the public and offers fantastic views of the surrounding countryside, from the Lakeland fells of Cumbria, Morecambe Bay, the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales.
